Psychosocial oncology deals with psychiatric, psychological, and social aspects of cancer. Psychiatric oncology addresses psychological and emotional issues in cancer patients and their caregivers. This speech will focus on research and practice in Indian Consultation Liaison Psychiatry. This presentation shares the presenter's findings and research. These include cancer pain and palliative care, psychiatric morbidity screening, quality of life, and communication skills for health workers in breaking terrible news and managing challenging inquiries. Somatization and sickness behavior in cancer patients research will highlight new challenges. Cancer caregivers are as vital as the patient, yet often disregarded. Caregiving for cancer patients causes stress, pressure, burden, positive emotions, and coping. Professional carers should recognize caregiver struggles and help them. Finally, the need of addressing employee stress and burnout will be highlighted.
