Translation into Arabic and Validation of the Patient Assessment of Care for Chronic Conditions Questionnaire for Diabetes - alharbi 2021
The Patient Assessment of Care for Chronic Condition is an English questionnaire designed to assess chronic disease patients' health care experiences. This study aims to translate, modify, and validate the Patient Assessment of Care for Chronic Conditions instrument in a sample of Saudi diabetics. The Patient Assessment of Care for Chronic Conditions was translated into Arabic utilizing forward and backward translation. 557 Saudi Arabians with diabetes were recruited from tertiary diabetic centers in Riyadh between January and March 2018 to validate the Arabic version. Cronbach alphas and item correlations were used to analyze the Arabic version's psychometric qualities. Psychometrically, translated Patient Assessment of Care for Chronic Conditions were good. Inter-item correlation ranged from 0.36 to 0.56 (Cronbach alpha > 0.9). Exploratory factor analysis found single factor structure. Diabetes patients can now take the Patient Assessment of Care for Chronic Conditions questionnaire in Arabic. This study can improve health care in Arabic-speaking countries.
