Depression and psychodynamic psychotherapy—Ribeiro 2018

Depression's biological/psychosocial divide is disappearing. Psychotherapy is recommended under current recommendations. Psychodynamic psychotherapy approaches include a variety of psychoanalytic techniques. Growing literature raises scientific understanding of these treatment alternatives' positive influence on post-treatment outcomes and relapse prevention. Considering the changing paradigm in depressive disorder treatment, the authors strive to define and assess psychodynamic psychotherapy's efficacy.
