A choice experiment on preferences for electric and hybrid cars in Istanbul—INCI, 2022
Istanbul households' electric and hybrid car choices are analyzed. We use an adaptive choice-based conjoint technique that modifies the survey in real time. Electric automobiles have minimal potential, but hybrids have enormous latent demand. Subsidizing electric car parking and hybrid car bridge and tunnel fees is the most successful urban policy. In a car's lifetime, respondents value these policies at $2,070. We estimate respondents would pay $3.4, $14.8, and $20.7 to extend hybrid, conventional, and electric automobile range by 1 km. They're willing to pay $258 to reduce electric car recharge time by 1 minute or to make recharge stations more widespread, reducing detour time by 1 minute.
