Review of Myocarditis Following Immunization With mRNA COVID-19 Vaccines in the US Military— Montgomery 2021

This is a brief audio review. In the article Myocarditis Following Immunization With m-R-N-A COVID-19 Vaccines in Members of the US Military published, 2021 by Montgomery and Colleagues, The outcomes and key points are as noted: Myocarditis was observed in military patients who were previously healthy and received the m-R-N-A COVID-19 vaccine. The authors stated that potential for rare vaccine-related adverse events must be considered in relation to well established risk of morbidity, cardiac injury following COVID-19. The authors stated that additional testing did not identify other etiologies for myocarditis at the time of study. This was a Retrospective, cohort, descriptive, [observational] study with 23 Patients who were male, and 22 of whom were actively serving, the median age was 25 years old, and presented for care due to chest pain after COVID-19 vaccination and diagnosed with myocarditis.
