Translation and Cross-Cultural Adaptation of Quality of Life Scale in Patients with Onychomycosis - Silva-Neves 2021

Onychomycosis causes diabetic foot ulcers. It affects pain, self-esteem, and confidence. Translate and adapt the onychomycosis quality of life questionnaire. This study followed Beaton et al. (2000), where two English-to-Portuguese translations were undertaken and an expert consensus was reached. Two back-translations followed. Experts found semantic equivalence, idioms, and concepts. 49 participants took the pre-test. Authors received the final version and processed data. We changed semantics, syntax, and interrogatives to affirmatives. The translated questionnaire suggests further studies to test validity and reliability in this demographic.
